We're spending $1 trillion on "national security." Republicans want to prevent $55 billion in cuts to that by cutting the "National School Lunch Program, the Children's Health Insurance Program, Medicaid, food stamps," and dozens of other programs for the poor and middle class.

this is one of the more informative articles I’ve seen on military spending.  it’s illuminating as to the true cost of our “defense” (hint: it ain’t all accounted for in the actual annual defense budget—try half (omitting interest payments on past wars—otherwise it would be even fucking higher).  :) sorry kid-o’s we only thought progress on the time-line meant progress in humanity.  you’ll be dumber than your parents, and more malnourished, but at least we’ll have enough f-35s to make appearances at every single pre-game show in america—cause there’s only so many wars to go round (sorry fighter pilots, it’ll have to do.)  but it’ll be awesome. yay, america.
